If the simple maintenance described in this chapter and in Chapters 3 and 4 is conscientiously carried out, carburettor and fuel-system faults should seldom be experienced. If trouble does crop up, however—and the possibility cannot, of course, be entirely eliminated—the fault can usually be traced and cured without very much difficulty if the suggestions given later in this chapter are followed.
